13 Things I Learned Walking Through A Tough Season

  1. Love your family hard. They’re the only people you can always count on.
  2. Don’t tell just anyone something you wouldn’t tell everyone.
  3. People will always let you down. The only person who won’t is Christ.
  4. There will be times where people are going to hate you just because of who you are. Regardless of what you say and what you do, regardless of how hard you try to love them, people are going to have their own preconceived notions and they’re always going to think what they want to.
  5. When you pray for those who persecute you, they loose their power over your emotions.
  6. You are far more out of control than you realize.
  7. The only thing you can control in life is how you react to what happens.
  8. We have to intentionally choose to pick ourselves up and move on. If we don’t choose to move forward, we will stay exactly where we are.
  9. You have to feel the pain in order to heal.
  10. You have to walk through it in order to move past it.
  11. If you don’t let go on your own, God will pry it out of your hands.
  12. Hold on to solid friends even when they disappoint you. They’re not going to be perfect. They’re going to make mistakes and they’re going to let you down. Remember their heart and why you chose them as a friend in the first place.
  13. Nothing lasts forever. Be all in where you are and give it all you have.
