Bio: As a young girl, my prayer was that God would use me to change the world. At 16, I was diagnosed with cancer. By the grace of God, since then I have not only been healed, but have been on this crazy adventure of writing, speaking, and leading in many different ministry capacities. Publishing the journal I kept while fighting cancer (Because He Loved Me), serving on staff for 5 1/2 years at my local Crisis Pregnancy Center, ministering to the women of Virginia as a strategist on the Women’s Ministry State Team for the SBCV, leading our blog team for the SBCV, teaching at conferences…it’s all an extraordinary honor that I am completely unworthy of and it’s all nothing without Jesus. Most recently, the Lord has allowed me to marry an incredible man that I get to do ministry alongside of as he serves as Student Pastor and I lead Girls Ministry.
I never imagined something so ugly that inflicted such brokenness would be used to answer the earnest prayers of a little girl. But isn’t that just how God works? Taking the ugly, the broken, and the unexpected, and transforming it into something beautiful for His glory. And thus is the continual story of my life, seeking and praising Him in the valley low and the mountain high, when it’s easy and when it’s not. And my little girl prayers are still the cry of my heart: God, use me.
